Reviews and Ratings
Staying at the hotel was like stepping into a wonderful world of nature with stunning views over a tropical forest where exotic birds, squirrels, and Vervet monkey families made daily visits. The rooms, although spacious with full bathrooms and private balconies offering panoramic views, lacked elegance and were disturbed by a loud noise from the ceiling. The service was friendly and attentive, offering a range of amenities. The location, while pleasant and offering beautiful views, needed a significant revamp to match its potential. The dining experience was fabulous but slightly impacted by the high number of guests during the weekend. The facilities were well-maintained with room for improvement in overall management.
The hotel's location is stunning amidst its own botanical garden with a great size swimming pool, though the water was very cold regardless of the time of day. The rooms had the same issues initially, but after complaining, we were moved to the originally booked room later, which was lovely. The dining experience was great with a very good selection, especially for Dim Sum. However, service needs improvement as the staff could benefit from a customer service course.
The hotel rooms were spacious, clean, and the service was excellent, making for a comfortable stay. However, they are in serious need of an upgrade, not quite up to the standard expected for a 5-star hotel. Despite this, the room decor matched the overall hotel ambiance, but we encountered several issues in our specific room.
The hotel did a great job of keeping the room tidy for us, but it did appear a little dated, especially the bathroom fittings. The staff insisted on resolving problems promptly, and they were professional and friendly. The location offers stunning views, but it can be ruined by noise at times. The dining experience was exceptional, with a wide range of options, especially for vegetarians.
The hotel has some issues with old mattresses and late-night disturbances in the hallways, considering the high cost for a 5-star hotel. Despite this, the convenience of late checkout at 1 pm is a plus.
The hotel offers comfortable and luxurious rooms, but they are starting to show their age and lack power outlets. The service, while a bit slow, provides various amenities but falls short in friendliness. The location is beautiful with friendly and helpful staff, although it can feel large and cold. The dining experience has many choices but lacks attentiveness. Overall, the facilities are adequate but could use improvement.
The hotel's rooms are huge and fabulous, although they are in desperate need of an upgrade. The service was attentive and kind, but there were some long waiting times at various points. The location is beautiful with lovely background piano music, and the hotel is very close to Pilanesberg National Park. The dining experience was truly amazing. Two positives are the spacious rooms and beautiful location, while the tired rooms and long waiting times are two negatives.
My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The rooms were spacious with great amenities but lacked proper lighting. The service was attentive but needed improvement in certain aspects. The location was convenient with direct access to a popular attraction but was marred by some issues. The dining experience had its highs and lows. The facilities offered were good overall.
The hotel has a beautiful location overlooking the pool area and botanical garden, but the rooms are 25 years old and in desperate need of refurbishing. Service was a mix of going out of their way for guests and lacking communication among staff members. The dining experience offered a big variety but at an exorbitant price. The facilities were satisfactory.
I found myself in a nice, quiet part of the resort with a lovely view over a private garden. The hotel has both its strengths and weaknesses, making for an overall pleasant stay with a few hiccups. The service was top-notch, but there were some small issues with room cleanliness. The location was exceptional despite some minor distractions, and the dining experience was excellent despite the security being a bit too vigilant. The facilities offered were good, albeit with room for improvement.
My stay at the hotel was a mix of positive and negative experiences. The rooms were comfortable and clean, but the air vents made funny noises. The personal attention was excellent, yet the constant noise from water running through the pipes was a bit disturbing. Overall, a decent stay with some room for improvement.
The hotel had some issues with tired rooms in need of a refresh and a lingering damp smell from a past flood, but the staff was friendly and accommodating. The location offered both beauty and unwelcome surprises, and the dining experience was a mix of exceptional and disappointing moments.
The hotel rooms are a bit dark and old, getting a little tired and needing some attention, but my stay on the 5th floor was very quiet. We did encounter 2 minor issues, however, the maintenance team promptly resolved them. The maids were excellent, keeping our room tidy. The view from our room overlooking the pool and garden was superb.
My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The rooms were spacious with full bathrooms and a private balcony offering panoramic views over the pool area or Forest view, but the tired bath with a plastic plug that didn't fit properly was a drawback. The service was friendly and accommodating overall, although a bit unpleasant at the Tusk bar. The location was stunning with beautiful views, and the dining experience was exceptional, standing out as probably the best in my many years of travel. The facilities were great but had some room for improvement.
The hotel is set amidst its own botanical garden, offering stunning views, a great size swimming pool, but the water was very cold throughout the day. The rooms got with views of the palms overlooking the entrance of the complex but were not ready upon our arrival. The dining experience was highlighted by a variety of seasonal dishes while the service at the Tusk Bar was very unpleasant, except for the friendly and helpful staff in other areas. The price seemed justified with great facilities, yet a potential improvement could be replacing the carpets with tiles or modern flooring.
